The Power Of The Internet For Building New Business Relationships

At last ... the weekend has arrived!

It's funny that I welcome weekends with such joy as I always work on weekends, but it still feels like it's "my" time. Two days without additional pressures being added to the pile ... does that make sense?

Anyway, as I start my Saturday without an immediate "must do," I just found myself reflecting again on the wonder of the internet and where it has taken all of us in our marketing efforts. I can remember advising my clients on the need to build relationships. Who knew that social networking was around the immediate corner! Such an opportunity. We can wake up and be in touch with many, many new faces and contacts from around the world. Such an opportunity to form new alliances, identify new prospects and market "ourselves" across the world.

Those of you who have known me over the years know that I have always promoted internet communications as some of the most intimate and relationship building interactions that exist. The power of the bonds that can be made is huge ... "if" the communications put into building the bonds are done appropriately. I stress this even more as we zip in and out of our social networking activities. Pay attention to what you say and how you say it! It can build you strong bridges to new opportunities or in a "click" destroy opportunities.

One ticket to success is my workshop or ebook on one-to-one emailing. The secrets to success in effective one-to-one online communications, learned from both sources, will keep you a winner on the social networks. My ebook is listed under "fertilizers" on the side of my blog. Information about my workshops can be found on my website, www.todaysway.net.

Another ticket to success is simply to use common sense, politeness and some of the same curtesies that you would apply in a face-to-face encounter and or telephone conversation.

Go forth and connect ... have fun meeting all these new people!

Keep your business growing ...

The Marvels Of The Internet!

Hello,

Every once in a while I think back to the "old days" of trying to solve communications problems and realize what a wealth of information we have today with the internet. It can be overwhelming ... something like when you were a kid and would lie on the grass and try to imagine "the endlessness of the sky!"

Yesterday I was doing a website layout for one of my new clients. This is a website that is going to sell some products that offer customization on a very personal basis. I realized that the types of customization options required processing above the norm that shopping carts provide. The question became how can I create a platform for all of the various customization fields that would keep it organized at the product launch plus easily evolve into larger sales volumes!

Thanks to the power of the internet and technology, in general, I was able to "create" a solution unique to my client's needs. The internet not only allows technology to evolve but also provides the capability of finding the new technologies!

Take a moment today and realize just what you have with the internet!

There's Business Out There!

Top of the Day To You!

I am pleased to share that with all the economic fears and doomsday predictions around us ... yesterday proved to me that business is alive and that using the internet for business growth is a priority.

My own business had reached a one day lull after months of ongoing projects and jobs. The good news was the wonderful feeling of accomplishment of seeing my clients happy and producing either from websites, newsletters and advertising I had created or from coaching services. It was also especially nice to see my list of "to do's" down to a managable amount of personal marketing activities!

The bad news was that it felt like the eye of the storm ... a sudden quiet! I chose to not be fearful that this "economic" bug had hit me ( although the thought did enter my mind) and quickly went on to embracing an open mind of what will be arriving next.

Sure enough the phone rang late in the morning and never stopped. The day ended with three new proposals and one closed deal that had been outstanding. All small businesses ready and willing to use the internet for their business growth.

I remain grateful and take nothing for granted, but just wanted to share with you that businesses are still growing! Don't let the press fool you!!

Keep "your" business growing ..

Just Stay With It ... Blogging Does Become Easy & Fun!

I am really excited to realize that I have been blogging daily now for .... well guess you can count the days if scroll down to my posts! Not "that" long, but long enough to feel the results if you just stay "with it" in the beginning.

Even though I am the professional in this industry of online communications, I have to admit that it took me a while to identify the place my blog would have in my own communications platform. That finally defined .... hellelula! .... I was on to the commitment of remembering ( that was the hardest) and then knowing what to say.

I was just as skeptical as my clients about the ability to think of something frequently that wouldn't take long and would fit the purpose. The jury is still out if I am fitting the purpose of connecting on a personal level with my community ... but I can now personally attest to all my clients that coming up with blogging topics does become as easy as speaking and is fun!

I have tried to commit the same time period daily to my posting. My choice is early morning when my head is clear. The thoughts I choose to write about are becoming more and more "from me" vs from the book or the lecturn.

So my thoughts today that I am sending out .... the way to get into blogging is to just stick with it . It doesn't matter what you put on your blog in the beginning. Just start doing it and the "best" will come out of you as you go! The transition is a delightful one!

Don't Forget About The Value Of Newsletters!

Happy Columbus Day!

I don't know how many of you are on LinkedIn, but I am a member and participate in answering some of the marketing questions. Yesterday there was a question asking "what were they missing?" They proceeded to lay out an elaborate online communication plan that included their website, a blog, ads in articles and on other blogs, etc. All their components relied upon their market "going to them" ... i.e. waiting to be found.

The one missing piece, that to me was shouting out, was a newsletter. A newsletter continues to be a communication that "goes to your market!" Newsletters put your information in front of your market. Even if they don't open your email with your news, the subject line still gets seen.

So, in the midst of my promo for creating your blog and your websites ... DO NOT FORGET the power and the value of having a newsletter.

Keep your business garden growing ...
